Bible verses for men: strength, purpose and integrity

These passages speak directly to the pressures many men carry: work, leadership, temptation and the question of what a good life looks like. Each verse is quoted word for word from the World English Bible (WEB). The notes are FORGED commentary, not Scripture.

Strength and courage

1 Corinthians 16:13–14 — Four commands for strength, finished with one that governs them all: do everything in love.

Joshua 1:9 — Courage rests on God's presence, not on the absence of fear.

Purpose and direction

Micah 6:8 — What God asks is clear: act justly, love mercy, walk humbly.

Proverbs 3:5–6 — Trust God beyond your own understanding; He straightens the path.

Work and integrity

Colossians 3:23 — Work wholeheartedly, as for the Lord. Ordinary work becomes worship.

1 Timothy 4:12 — Set an example in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, whatever your age.
